For this 48 hour project in video prototyping, we were asked to create a 30 second video depicting the future of payment.
We imagined a future far removed from science fiction. Waiters remain human, we still use the same utensils, and paying on a first date is as awkward as ever. We opted for choreographing a sort of hand ballet, emphasizing symmetry and synchronized movements. We chose the music as a natural extension to the gestures, and to set the rhythm of the interaction.
This course was our first foray into filmmaking. Given the tight constraint on the video duration, we were forced to be very attentive to the elements we chose to include. In the process, we learned the basics of scripting, lighting and video editing.
